Growing up FAST!

I've decided for a few reasons to post my personal stuff here for now, mainly cause I can make them big in size and people have been bugging me for my pictures! :) My little, older guy came home from school last week and had his first loose tooth. So I grabbed my camera (out of the dust) and took an impromptu shoot that ended up his last with his bottom tooth. It fell out 24 hours later.

the support and encouragement and sweet words expressed since the last post! What great clients I have. So to answer the common question I have been getting...'is this indefinite?'...No. I am taking a semester off, and hoping to be back in biz late April or May. Once some of my pending commitments have subsided (and boys spring baseball schedule slows down), my plan is to resume booking appointments in time for Christmas! :)

hiatus.

I have been going back and forth about what to do with my photography biz (the wonderful side effect of so much support is the draining of time). The decision to give it up has been difficult and saddening, mainly because it gives me a chance to see so many clients (now friends) that I would not get to see otherwise. It's also been such a pleasure to watch your little ones and families grow. However, God has called me to do other things this spring and summer. One of them being teaching His word to the littlest in BSF and Journey (program at our church). :)

In addition, my little men are growing up fast. I have missed many precious moments with them so now I want to enjoy the time I have left. :) I know you know what I mean.

So with that, I leave you in the best of hands...one of my dearest friends, that I started this journey with, she's talented, creative, personable, professional, got an eye for the shot, Ms Becky Ellsworth! Rooted...

My hubby was born in west Texas and my roots are west Texas. My 91 year old grandfather still lives there. So over labor day weekend, we took a trip out to see his folks and Opa. And a bonus for me...a change of scenery to take some pictures. How I love the landscape. Nothing touches a west Texas sunrise or sunset. It's pure Texas! It has a certain look and a distinct smell. It's the Permian land labored with oil. It's a special place for us both. So while my roots are deep there, the deep love for Jesus came from my grandmother's legacy that started there. She taught my mom about God who taught me about God. So where are my lasting, eternal roots? Jesus Christ, Saviour, King, Father, Victor, Redeemer! So enjoy this glorious time of year and remember to reflect on the reason for the season. Christ came, fully God, fully man, was crucified for my sins, defeated death and rose a Victor 3 days later. And now sits at the right hand of God, as my intercessor and Redeemer. Amen!

Thank you to each of you for the overwhelming support, encouragement and kindness you have given me this year. And for sharing your special moments in life with me. Changes are coming next year for RHP pricing and structure. It's been almost 3 years since I last updated my structure and since then demand has exceed my time. Stayed tuned in mid January for information.

Till then, Merry Christmas to all! And Happy New Year! And now...my family!

But not only for the boys but also they love the parents. Mom always has something special for them and dad takes them on nature walks with his kids. They make life fun and exciting. Love them! If you are friends with this mom, then you know she is one of the greatest friends you have ever had. She is that to me. But she is also more than that. She is the friend I do life with. She's the friend that is beside me at mile 12 (the hardest, most mentally difficult mile) to challenge me and encourage me. She's the friend I can talk Bible with and pray with. Advice...she's one of the first calls. And my boys are birth friends with her boys. Anywhere we go, if this family is there, it's 'the best day ever.' So there is no award for this family. She is the award. Her and her family.

And by the way, news said later this was the windiest and coldest day of the year. As a result, it was also the shortest session to date.

Love this family! And love these kids! Little sister was cracking me up though the most! She was loving her tongue through 2/3 of the shoot. Anyway, this family has the most incredible eyes. Enjoyed it! Easily receive (in order of age) 'Mr Cool', Mr Trooper' (younger brother had a 101 fever-you would never know in these pix!) & 'Ms Silly Pants!' In honor of her playful attitude. I love newborns, fresh from our Father. So double the fun was even more special. Mom and I worked for 4 hours trying to get a deep sleep from either of the twins (the kind you need to prop them, really manipulate them etc), but alas, that was not the day. But loved the extra time to hang with a special mom and her precious crew of now 3! They definitely win 'Mr Endurance & Ms Perservance.' And sweet older sis is 'Beautiful Entertainer!' She had me laughing a good bit of the morning. Enjoy!

Love this mom! She cracks me up and is stunning...so her kids are not surprisingly the same. Stunning blue eyes on each! Wonderful little one! The mesquites were hopping but she kept on smiling! And what a beauty she is! It was good to catch up with this family. She has blessed my camera with her smile as a newborn and 3 month old...now she's 9 months! Ugh! Time goes too fast.

Had a great time with this family and half the runners of the Woodlands and a team of music video producers while taking this session! Ha! We did manage to not get people in the background...HOWEVER...what a distraction for little man! Too busy watching the crowd to 'sit pretty and smile.' Teacups & Tutus!

Preparation went into this little one's 1st birthday. Guests were to bring a special teacup and saucer to celebrate with homemade treats...while little guests were welcomed in tutus! Fun was had by all, including the princess who despite a double ear infection was able to still smile! Way to go little lady! Happy sweet 1st birthday!! I loved watching you grow this year and sharing your birth with your parents!! That's right this beautiful little one is the 4lb preemie from here.

Safe to say, the little ladies had the best time too!

Love this sweet momma who drives hours!! to see me and especially this trip with a 2 week old handsome fella. I so enjoyed catching up that after pictures I sat talking, camera aside, and before I realized it an hour had passed! Could have easily have stayed longer (she makes my cheeks hurt!!)...even more so because this little man was cradled in my arms sweetly sleeping! Holding him, kept me holding on to my 'not so little' fellas most of the weekend to their total dismay. Enjoy wonderful momma of two!!

One of my dearest friend's mother recently got married. It was an intimate, sweet, touching wedding and I was happy to be a part of it. What a blessing this friend is in my life and what an honor to hang with her close circle that matter most to her. Loved it. It was a home wedding with a cocktail hour...and 11 grand babies! This heat does a number on the smiles...but we managed to get one after both mom and I were sweating (me rather profusely-this weather is for the birds!!). And what a handsome smile it was! But I have to admit. I did love to see all the different looks of this fella. Honestly how can this momma tell him no!?! The last picture just makes me laugh...we were trying out different toys to see what would work and he's look to me was priceless...it's the look of 'you better not...' take this toy away! You know it's hot when you pull up to a park and not even one other car is in the parking lot! But it was a pleasure to meet up with these two cuties that didn't seem to mind one bit! These siblings are absolutely gorgeous! A stud quarterback brother and cute as a doll sister! You can only imagine how beautiful their mom is. :)

FAITH-Is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1. The faith only God provides, others may not understand, but the driving force that sustains day to day. The faith to know God is Sovereign, God is Omnipresent, God is Omnipotent.

HOPE-For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11. The confidence to believe in your faith. To believe that God is Mighty, in the business of miracles, and is faithful to deliver.

LOVE-He brought me to the banqueting table, and His banner over me is love. Song of Solomon 2:4. His love means He cares, He listens, He comforts. The God that made the earth covers us, surrounds us, protects us. He loves us individually and His love is great even for the little.
A banner is also a sign; giving us direction and purpose, particularly in battle. This battle is set. The fight has begun. And we fight, alongside the Commander who is the Author of Life. A Commander who is personal, powerful, present. Wow.

As this journey begins for this family, His hand is already been seen in the details of the diagnosis, His protection in getting the treatment started, and the strength this family has to move day by day. I bet he slept great after I left. He closed his eyes briefly every once and a while, but mostly wanted to show me his big beautiful eyes during my visit! Oh, sweet family enjoy him!! He's awesome.

He's part of my casting call too! A graduating senior going to my Alma mater. Doesn't get better. I have to admit, it made me a little sad to edit these...kept thinking about sending my men off to college (in 13 years!) Best of luck Mr Handsome! And mom!
So on that note...I am all caught up and taking a 3 week break to enjoy my oldest graduating from Kindergarten and all it's end of the school year festivites. :)

When me and this sweet momma first tried to meet up my niece went to the ER for a minor emergency. On another day, a different niece of mine had a serious emergency (a long story which proves God is still in the business of miracles! Thank goodness!)...so all in all we ended up meeting twice! She is just the most easy going, beautiful, genuine momma! I appreciate her flexibility and enjoyed chasing her little man and holding her sweet baby girl!

Not exactly what I was going for...but nonetheless a VICTORY! We worked and worked to get little man seated and no one crying! :)

It's been a wonderful and blessed year. After prayer and patience, God brought us a new cousin all the way from China! We are excited to spend his first Christmas with him.

What can you say, this is one awesome family with some awesome parents. But with a house full of ladies, this dad had better keep his running shoes on (to chase away the suitors!) Good looking, fun, and a couple of playmates for my boys. We moved into our neighborhood only a few months ago, but these boys (and their momma) welcomed us with open arms and made us feel part of the group immediately! My boys play daily for hours with them and we could not have asked for better (more awesome) neighbors. It's always a blast to take their pictures because they are soooo darn good looking!

The little one made some of the best faces! He was just having a good time!

What an awesome pair! These little ones belong to some of the greatest, most genuine, kindhearted parents! We love them and we love their children.

This big brother is talked about all the time by my boys. They always want to know where he is and if he can come over and stay the night! He's just got that fun, want to be around personality. And maybe this girl will be apart of our family in a few years...ok dad...many years!! But she is just a doll. She has the most beautiful skin, perfect eyebrows, and big brown eyes. Just want to squeeze her.

She unfortuantely was a Frog (TCU frog that is) but since living here I have gotten to know her better and better. A family of 3 brothers, all who love the Lord, all who love a little boy, came together to celebrate a little man's VICTORY over leukemia! It was a night to remember as family and friends gathered to praise God for a victory won by His provision, His strength, His healing! Praise God, he is now chemo & cancer free! 2 reasons, 2 sides!

There are 2 reasons I love photography. First and foremost, it's a glimpse into God's beautiful creation! You see His Sovereignty, His Mightiness, His character in His work. Photography somewhat gives us a picture of this, His greatness. After all, we are His masterpiece.

Second, it allows me to hang out with some of the greatest people. This family is no exception. Genuine, kind hearted, beautiful people inside and out. This family gathered everyone together (what a task, since one is currently living in Korea!) complete with all of mom's family and all of dad's family. Awesome!
